Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We talk so I understand what their vision and expecations are. Then I can blend my expereince with what they actually want. Good communications makes everybody happy.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Decades of training and expereince in both photography and videography. Things are constantly changing in this digital world and I keep learning. I started as a professional fashion photographer in the film days, and even flew low level supersonic reconnaissance in the Navy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Every project is a least a little different. I try to adapt to each project though things are generally based on how much time is involved including the editing process (evrybody gets fully edited images).
How did you get started in this business?
It all started decades ago working with my best friend who was a high fashion photographer. I had always liked photography but this took it to a professional level. We did everything from studio work to live events. And this was back in the film days so all that translated to darkroom work, developing, and printing. That gives the real core understanding, which I can now match with the modern powerful tools from professional DSLR cameras and drones, to what we can do in Photoshop and other software programs.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Every kind imaginable, from young to old, fashion model to corporate clients.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
See their work and see if you like their style. Talk to them. An old adage but generally true - you get what you pay for. Everybody has a camera nowadays, but quality photography is a learned and trained skill both in the camera and post-processing.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What is my need and/or want? What am I trying to accomplish? What is the total value of the project to me and is the price worth that value?
