Frequently asked questions

Start with a free consultation and physical visit if appropriate. I like to get a feel for my clients as human beings, so I want to know about your family, history, hopes and dreams. Then, depending on the complexity of the project, a test visit to the venue, or a run-through.

I've taken numerous college courses and professional instruction classes in film, video, audio, graphics, etc. But, my skills come from producing media projects of one kind or another my whole life. A lot of my early work has been live video or ephemeral in nature so there isn't much documented, but I've creating audio visual experiences since I was a child.

I'm working on a new rate card, but my prices are sliding scale depending on a lot of factors. I work from a place of passion and I want my clients to message to be seen and understood in a deep and impactful way. If I belive in your message, money isn't going to be obstacle to working together.

As the current business, I started shooting local art events and jazz shows about 5 years ago. But, previous incarnations include a business called Giant Anteater Studios that helped local musicians get there work online via MP3.com (if anyone remembers that) and offered video projection services for live events.

Mostly performing and visual artists or arts organizations. But, I've been doing more small business and corporate stuff lately. I've worked with insurance agents, real estate agents, hotels and resorts, lots of non-profits, political candidates... My clients are all people who I believe in and bring good into the world.

It all depends on you. The right content artist for one person or business might be totally wrong for another. Don't just look at reviews or likes, look at the portfolios and have a conversation. You need to connect with the person who is going to create a visual representation of you and your message. If you don't vibe with each other, the message isn't going to come through like it should.

Break down your project into parts and figure out how they need to work together. If you are hiring different people to do different things, you need to know how those things relate to each other and make sure the people doing them understand that to. Having a big picture that is shared across all the people involved makes things more consistant and keeps people on the same page... even if they are working on different chapters!
