My service and product stands out because being a photographer is who I am not what I do. I have been a professional photographer for over 35 years. Working with clients to get the image they have imagined is why clients return year after year. There is no guessing how it will look or "fixing" it in Photoshop after the shoot. No excuses, just solutions.
I am a certified Professional Photographer by the Professional Photographers of America, the oldest photographic organization in the world.
My enjoyment comes from freezing time for people and preserving the moment so tha tthey can re-live it anytime they want to. My cherished treasures are the photographs on my walls and the albums I have of events and everyday life with my family. After over 35 years in the business it is just a way of life for me. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually first contact is made via phone or the contact form on the website. Details of the job are discussed and the date and time are scheduled. Delivery is made digially or as printed materials depending of the request.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in commercial photography and I am certified by PPA as a Certified Professional Photographer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I do have standard rates for Headshots, family portraits, day rates and half day rates depending of the type of work. Wedding packages are available as well as hourly.
How did you get started in this business?
My first paid job came from the city of San Rafael and I have never looked back. Photography is the way I have mad emy living ever since. Today I have numerous clients with Google being the largest.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with the family down the street, Cities, the NFL, IndyCar, small, medium and large corporations like Google.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In May I shot an event for The New Yorker Travel magazine. It was a small awards event in San Francisco. The event included candids, awards presentations, onsite prints and digital delivery at the close of the event. Our crew was able to handle all aspects of the event and furnished the deliverables before leaving the venue as scheduled.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Many people get hung up on the equipment used or the photographer being from the area the job is to take place. I have photographed all over the world for individuals to major corporations, each time exceeding expectations. Develope a repor with the photographer and let them know your wildest dreams for the job and see how the photographer reacts. If they are overwhelmed you may think twice, but if they offer suggestions and show examples this may be a good fit for you.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
The main question would be, what do you want at the end of the day? A digital gallery online? Prints to hang on the wall? An album to hand down for generations? All of the above? Do you want to documant the day? Tell a story? Create a "fly on the wall" journalistic collection of images?
