About
My name is Oscar Gutierrez and I'm a native San Diegan photographer who strives to capture a story with every frame. I believe that the perfect image is the one captured in the moment, with ambient light, and unposed. In other words..."real". Capturing scenic and personal memories, for over 13 years, and creating meaningful art for marketing, business, and private homes alike, has truly been a joy and a passion of mine. My inspiration continues to come from the mundane beauty that is all around us but we easily oversee as we fall into our day-today routines.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We have a one on one session prior to the photo shoot to establish the creative idea that is desired to be captured. Once we decide on the idea we have I get to work and execute. During the photoshoot, I will direct posture and suggest posses that fit with the creative idea. My goal is always to capture the scene as natural as possiable.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a photojournalism background with an emphasis in composition. I have shot for various photography studios in the past that covered a large array of portraiture photography. Everything from children sport's, to corporate headshots/events, and weddings. Being able to adjust at a photoshoot is what makes a successful day of shooting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
All my services are tailored to my clients needs and their budgets.
How did you get started in this business?
I first picked up a camera to do an assignment for my HS paper. I realized that I had a talent for it and started to shoot for the yearbook and other HS publications around school. My passion for storytelling drove me to study with professionals in the industry and helped me hone in on how to tell a story with each frame I take.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with many types of customers:
-Children Sports Leagues
-HS school/Senior pics
-Corporate Headshots/Events
-Family Portraits
-Quinceaneras
-Weddings
-Restaurants
-City Councils
-News Paper Publications
-...and many more.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Meet your photographer and really see if they are listening to your vision. It's all about the vibe. If the vibe is off, move on.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Start with the end in mind. Talk about what you want the final product to look like and used for. Work with your photographer on your vision and come up with a plan together to capture that vision. This ensures that proper expectations are being set and obtainable by both parties. So ask questions that relate to how your vision can be captured.
