Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer my job is to get to know you. I will ask you basic questions about yourself then move into questions about your skin. Such as, are you oily, dry or combination do certain lotions and products break you out. I want to make sure this is a comfortable and amazing experience. Then moving forward we make magic together and you will leave feeling beautiful just like you looked before you sat in my chair!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a self taught Makeup Artist. I have worked closely with Professional Makeup Artist over the years, studied books on several makeup techniques, and took a few courses online. I am currently working on my Professional International Makeup Artist Certification.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing is based on the skill, supplies and experience. I always get told I can charge so much more. However, I consider all backgrounds of life and think my prices are fair.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started in this business when I went to get my makeup did by a professional at a makeup counter for my birthday and completely hated my makeup at the end. That day I vowed to myself to not only learn the ends and outs of makeup but listen to what my clients want, ask questions throughout the process and not wait to the end to see if a client is happy but at the beginning, the middle and end. I would never want anyone to experience the feelings I did that day. No one is perfect and we are all learning everyday and that day the makeup artist and myself learned a valuable lesson.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with customers from all different backgrounds. I love having the ability to do so because with each one I learn something new and I have an amazing time. Young, wise, in between I value them all and enjoy being able to say we make a great team. ☺️
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a client who has never worn makeup before and trusted me as their makeup artist but also was very vocal. I appreciated the fact that she explained to me what she did and didn't wanted and what she wanted less or more of. I didn't feel any less of a makeup artist I felt happy, accomplished because it was what she wanted at the end and she felt incredible. That made me feel amazing because I listened and that went a long way.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Book a pro based off the experience you are trying to have and the knowledge of skill they provide. Never book a makeup artist because they are cheap and never not book a makeup artist because they happen to be pricey. Look at their work, their reviews, the questions they ask and don't ask and see if that's the type of individual you want to trust with this experience.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Are there any special accommodations that are needed? Travel? Skin conditions? Timing?
Overall, know what you want and need and if you aren't sure don't be afraid to ask and get a better understanding.
