About
Welcome to Gabrielle Rondell Photography. I started my business in 2000 and specialize in Lifestyle photography. I create sensitive, connected imagergy and love capturing tender moments between families and children in and around the Bay Area. In addition, I photograph executive portraits and enjoy shooting smaller events, special family days and intimate weddings.
I have had a passion for all things photography ever since I can remember. I picked up my first camera when I was 7 and I have not put it down since.
My approach is both relaxed and in the moment always aiming to put my clients at ease and help them feel as comfortable as possible. I prefer using natural light whenever possible as it is most flattering.
My goal is to guide my clients from start to finish giving them the most fun and professional experience possible!

I really enjoy meeting new people through my portrait and event work, finding out about them on a personal level. This helps me give my clients the best possible experience. The moment I look through the view finder and recognize that decisive moment (to quote the famous photographer, Henri Cartier Bresson) and click the shutter is a moment unlike any other. That actual moment is very exciting for me.
I am happy to go above an beyond for those I photograph and will create a story through imagery that my clients will enjoy for years to come.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first set up a brief phone consultation to discuss the wants & needs of my client & what they can expect from the process when working with me. I then send you a proposal detailing everything you will experience while we are working together. Then we set up your portrait session, usually about 2 weeks ahead of time & then I will do the shoot. Approximate 1-2 weeks after your session you will come to my home for your portrait showing. During these challenging times I will give you the option to view the best images from your session online and will help you choose what you will ultimately end up ordering! I will also give you the opportunity to have a zoom call with me where we can go over your favorite images & I will share your custom framing & album options. I make it a point to be with my clients from start to finish making the process fun & easy!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied photography and photo journalism in college. I worked at a portrait studio in San Francisco photographing children at play and family portraits for two years. I also do headshots, engagement shoots and intimate weddings. I have taken several photography focused continuing studies courses at Stanford University and maintain current practices by taking portrait and photography workshops on a regular basis to hone my skills. I have had my portrait and event business since 2000 satisfying many clients over the years delivering quality portraiture to each one.
How did you get started in this business?
My father gave me my first point and shoot camera when I was 7 years old. He taught me how to create images, I fell in love with all things photography & have been photographing ever since. My mom and grandfather's background in fine art, painting, sclupture and jewelry which helped train my compostitional and photographic eye. I consistantly looked and experienced art as a child and young adult. I studied photo journalism in college which ultimately lead to me to open my portrait and event business in 2000. In addition, I have shown my peronal work in around the bay area since 1995.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
First I would make sure you have some kind of connection with the photographer you are working with by talking to them ahead of the hiring process. Then I would look at their website and social media pressence. I would also check out their reviews and ask them what I could expect when working with them.
