Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First step is to schedule a quick phone consult to go over your photography needs, as well as your budget. After this initial consult, I will draft up a custom quote based on the information that you have given me. Then a contract is signed and we will have one more quick call to prepare for your session. After the session, we will meet to go over your finals images, or we can do this over the phone, so that I may answer any questions that you might have or hear any editing requests.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in photography as well as continuing education through workshops.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, pricing starts at $200 and goes up to $3500, depending on the type of photography (event, portraits, commercial, etc)
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have a wide variety of clients ranging from families, couples, bussiness professionals, wine industry leaders, event venue owners, event planners, etc.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Mardi Gras event at the Marin Country Club. My photo booth and event photography was a big hit!
What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?
Don't hire solely based on pricing and website images. The realationship you develop with your photographer is very important. Are they friendly, warm and easy to work with? Are they flexible and knowledgable? How long have they been in the business?
A lot of photographers just starting out have no idea what they are doing and their pricing often reflects this. As with anything else, you get what you pay for, so don't waste your money on a "cheap" photographer who charges very little, and gives you a ton of low quality images. Just like anything else, if you are going to invest in professional services, make sure you do your research and hire someone who is experienced!
What questions should customers think through before talking to vendors about their needs?
Location, how many people in the shoot, timeline for final edits, their budget for photography, what is the photographers style? How will they recieve the final images?
