About
L.A. Foto Truck is a woman-owned family company offering mobile professional photography services for portraits (headshots, graduations, business), family and events.
Photographer: My name is Alma Lopez and I am an internationally recognized visual artist. I earned my BA from UC Santa Barbara, an MFA from UC Irvine, and a Photography Certificated from UCLA Extension.
As an artist and educator, I am often asked for a bio picture to be used in publications or promotional materials. Like many of us, I have plenty of current "selfies" and group pictures. But, what I need is a professional portrait or headshot.
So, from personal experience, I want to provide affordable professional portraits for other artists, academics and activists. I would love to be able to snap pictures of all artists and activists for free. But that is not sustainable.
When you need a professional portrait, consider supporting my services and therefore, my creative work.
I love knowing that people are happy with their portraits and capturing family/event memories.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process for working with new customers is to listen to what they want and for what purpose. During the photography session, I work with customers to capture the best possible photos. As we work, I show customers their photos on my camera or laptop to make sure we are on track to capturing the photos they need. Afterwards, I do some minor editing before sending all images to customers for digital download.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Studio Art from UC Santa Barbara, an MFA in Studio Art from UC Irvine, and a Photography Certificate from UCLA Extension.
How did you get started in this business?
As a visual artist, I have always used photography. I realized that I needed professional headshots and so did many of my friends. I really enjoy taking pictures.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Writers, performance artists, hypnotherapists, musicians, professors and students.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
From personal experience, sometimes we need photos for work, business or social media which project a more professional image above what is possible from a phone camera selfie. In addition, studio family portraits and event photography can help us capture memories that we can treasure and share forever.
