What types of customers have you worked with?
Everytype of customer that you can imagine. From families and couples, professional models, fitness trainers, influencers, business executives and celebrities.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
In addition to looking at their portfolio I highly suggest that you have a thourough phone conversation with any photographer about your shoot. Are they asking you questions about your outcome for the shoot? Do the ask about location, hair and makeup, wardrobe, styling. If this for business do they want to know about your brand? The colors you use for your company?... etc..
In short, if a photographer isn't you asking about every detail that's important to you then move on.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
1) How are you going to use the photos? Is this personal or for business? Where are you going to use these images? Web, Social Media, Advertising, Wall Art, Prints, etc...
2) What's the overall look and feel of the images. Do you have some examples to show the photographer about the overall vibe of the photoshoot. We call this a "Mood Board".
3) Where do you want to shoot?
4) Will you need help with hair, makeup, wardrobe, styling?
5) How many "final images" do you want from the shoot?
6) Do you need special retouching requests like hiding tattos, Air Brushing, etc...
7) If you're a business or a personal brand, what's the message you're trying to convey to your customers. How do you want people to see you.
Remember, it's not enough to just ask how much is your price to a photographer? If he or she doesn't take the time to learn about your goals for the photoshoot then your bound to be greatly dissapointed by the outcome.
