    Frequently asked questions

We'll get on the phone and discuss what kind of project you need taken care of.  This is probably the longest part of the process as I want to make sure you are able to get what you need from your shoot as well as make this as positive an experience as it can be.

    Questions would include...

What is the goal of your shoot?  What is it you or your business hopes to achieve from this shoot? (This is so I can cater a shoot that is tailored to your specific needs whether they are short or long term)

    Is this photo? Video? Both?

Do you have a location for us to shoot?

Do you need any post production such as photo retouching or video editing?

What are you looking for as a delivered final product from our shoot?

What kind of budget (if any) have you set aside for this production? We are capable of working withing a majority of budgets to help our clients.  We understand that not everyone has a media budget as if they were Nike!

I have earned my BA in Photography as well as an MA in digital media.  I have been working professionally since 2004 starting as an assistant and opening up my first studio in 2007.  I have worked in a wide variety of genres of the photo and video industry including beauty campaigns, advertising, TV commericals, promotional materials and look books, e-comm.  I have worked with models and also shot still life (product) campaigns.  I go where my clients need me.  Whether its in a sutdio in NYC, a beachy location in Miami, the Las Vegas Strip or even a small corner of their show room.  Everything is scalable to fit your needs.

Aside from repeated work from a specific client no two projects are the same.  Every project gets is own individual personalized touch.  It is because of this and the variety of needs that a client may have that I don't have a standard day/hourly rate.  Everything is project based.

The production needs of a client may be small and I can handle them myself or they might be so large that an entire crew is required.

I was always creative as a child.  I could draw, play instruments but when I tried to create the end result was never 100% there and didnt completely translate from what I envisioned in my head.  While taking the required classes in college I took a photography class.  It was at the end of the classes 2nd project where I started to get a handle on how you use a camera and develope film properly.  This was also the first time I have ever created something that I truly loved.

It was at this point that I decided to pursue photography and it became my passion.

After grad school I took on an internship in NYC.  Got my feet wet in the professional aspect of being on set.  I worked for magazines, news agencies, celebrity stock agencies.  It was a blast and I learned a lot very fast.  Shortly after starting my first internship I opened my own photo studio  in NYC in 2007. From that point on it has bee a real roller coaster that I woto get to tell you some time soon!

Small business owners, big businesses, non-profits, stock agencies, corporate clients, beauty products, modeling agenices, news stations, healthcare advocates...so many to name.

Think about the goal of your possible photo or video project.  What is it you need this project to do for yourself or your company?

Think of who needs to see the resulting media and where those people are so you can get as many eyes on it as possible.

Communication is key when talking to someone who is going to provide they types of services that photographers and videographers deliver.  Despite probably having no idea what it might cost to get your project done figure out how much you have to spend on your project and what you need this project to be.  A lot of potential new clients never want to discuss money when it is a very large part of their projets success and ask for an estimate to be put together based on a very vague description.

Imagine going in to a restaurant for dinner and your server asks what you would like for dinner.  You're response is, "I would like some food but have no idea what I want to eat or how much I want to spend."  What are the odds that you will have a positive experience as a result getting exactly what you wanted to eat at the amount you wanted to spend?  It would be very unlikely.

Additionally, if an estimate comes in to high do not just ghost the person you were speaking with.  Let them know if it is too high for your budget and what might they might be able to do to bring it within a reasonable range of what you are able to handle.

What is the goal of this production?

What are the needs of myself of my company?

What do I need from this shoot? Meaning do I need photos large enough to go on a bilboard or are they just being used for web (or anythign in between).  Is the video going to solely be on the web or other locations?

How long do you need this media to be effective and relevant to your taget audience?

What do I need done after the shoot?  Photo Retouching? Video Editing?

What kind of turnaround time do I need the finaly products delivered?
