Sweet Bobbies Cake Creations
About
We create memorable edible cake art.
Our cakes are baked with wholesome natural ingredients. The memorable and tasty cake batter can be anything from no fat, low cholesterol, vegan and gluten free. And we have the best tasting buttercream icing in the DMV area. You can see my cake designs on FB, Instagram, Google, LinkedIn and Yelp. Just type in Sweet Bobbies Cake Creations.
I started baking when I was eight years old with a easy bake oven. When my son now 40 was 3 years old I took a Wilton cake decorating class while living in North Carolina. When I took the class I was already a baker and artist. While living in North Carolina I was selling furniture and doing interior decorating for clients. I attribute my skills for helping people decorate their homes with being able to help clients to become creative in selecting their edible memories.
My family moved to Cheverly, MD in 1982 where I became a code enforcement police officer and made cakes after work. In 1985 my daughter was born and I became a full time mom and part time baker. I started baking full-time in 1987 and in 1990 I did my first celebrity cake For Rosa Parks 77th Birthday Celebration That was held at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. I also made cakes Kathy Hughes the owner of Radio One, Dick Gregory’s family, Jessie Jackson, The Roots Public CharterSchool, Joe and Katherine Jackson. While baking for Planet Hollywood between 1998 and 2001, I made cakes for The singer Usher, and many other celebrities.
