I like to talk to all of my new clients so that we can get to know one another. This helps me to better understand what they want, what they like and what they need. If needed I like to do taste testing for my potential clients to give them the opportunity to taste my food so they can make a decision if they want to hire me as their caterer.
I have a 4 year culinary degree, and I did 4 years internship at the Four Season Hotel in Georgetown
I worked for several large hotel chains, JW Marriot (Pennsylvania Ave), Sheraton Hotel (VA), Hilton Hotel (Alexander Mark Center), Grand Hyatt Hotel (10th & H St. NW) I worked in the fine dining restaurants and in the banquet kitchen. After doing this for so many years I wanted a change so thing different so I went to work for Old Country Buffet as front of the house Manager. After working there for 9 months I got fired. I didn't know whT I was going to do to take care of my babies so I prayed on it. The next day I made me so flyers and began to sell lunches at barbershop, hair salons and small office businesses. Word of mouth from the customers landed me my first catering job I did so well and the client was so impressed with the food and the service she told her supervisor about me and they asked me to do a corporate dinner for the board members at Andrew's Federal Credit Union.
From their, business kept getting better and better from word of mouth from their friends family. And now not only do I have a successful catering business I also have a Cafe.
I have worked with Board members of large corporations (Andrew Federal Credit Union) FBI, State Department, Brides, families, Churches, None Profit Organizations,.
Because of the Covid 19 I haven't done any catering this year. The last function I catered was a Christmas Party last year were we set up the ballroom like a lounge setting, with high top tables and chairs, linen with a over layer, we provided the DJ, Bar tenders, food and servers, Up lighting for 125 people. The client was so impressed that she called and booked me for this year Christmas Party the next day. All the guest had a wonderful time and enjoyed the food that so much we have several events that were on the calendar for this year but, due to Covid 19 they were cancelled.
