I enjoy my work becasue it's deeper than cosmetology for me. When I came up with Herbivorous Healing, I knew I wanted to offer an enviorment that was different; one that felt like a place of healing. I enjoy educating clients on alternative/ more natural beauty options, as well as seeing clients recations when they start to get results, that they are looking for.
It is also a joy to help women and teens feel confortable in the skin that they're in; In an enviorment that feels like home.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A full consultation, that will include a scalp analysis, and a detailed look at strands to see what treatment would be most beneficial.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Paul Mitchell graduate, and a Maryland, Licesned Cosmetologist, since 2017.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
All Scalp and Hair Treatment are $40 (which is the lowest priced serivce outside of a dry trim).
A wash and Go is $50 (for someone not looking to get any styling). Inlcudes a Scalp and Hair Treatment and curl training; Clients leave with hair 75-90% dry.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started by having a passion for haircare, and natural hair. When I graduted from beauty school I started off in a "Blowout Bar" with basic styling, on all textures of hair. I then went to work in Salon in Capitol Hill, D.C., called, Tammy's Salon, which was a Full Service Hair and Nail salon. When Tammy Salon closed, I invested my money into a suite, started to develop the, "Herbivorous Healing" brand.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have work with all type of clients with all textures, and states of hair. I have grown into a textured hair speicalist. I also help people find soultions for hair problems that includes hair loss, danduff, dry scalp, split ends, thinning etc.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
The advice I would give to a client looking to hire a stylist, is make sure you are hiring a professional that cares about your hair and health as much as, or more than you. This will alllow you to get the best technique and products avaible.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about the current condition of your hair- Is it in the state to get the desired style?
Think about the desired style and compare it to your hair- Will your hair get the volume, lengeth, movement ? If not, do you believe you can get this look with a cut, extentsion, etc..? If you are willing to upgrade, what is your budget?
Think about how you feel most comfortable- Will this change be too dramatic? Are you going to be comfortable with this hair? If you choose the wrong style, and it's not the stylist fault (simply wrong chose of style) are you willing to pay full price, and be happy?
