Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process begins with a consultation; either in person, on call, or by Zoom to discuss the details of your portraits or event. We will discuss outfit choices, length of session/event, pricing, and anything additional that they may desire to help make their time with me more successful.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I come from a creative background, specializing in music and business for my undergraduate degree from Johnson C Smith University in Charlotte, NC. I've studied photography for the past 3 years and have been in business for myself over all the past 8 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Events are priced starting at $675 for a minimum of 4 hours.
Portraits sessions are $675 to book and that comes with 5 images, and additional images start at $150. Packages are available, but there is a minimum purchase of 2 images per outfit/location/grouping.
How did you get started in this business?
In 2018, I was working in pet care and decided, from a few pushes and nudges from clients who received my daily updates and photos, to get started in photography. I haven't looked back since.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Maternity couples, families, and pets, as well as a few corporate events.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently completed a 1-year-old baby birthday bash. It was truly fun and wonderful to be able to capture their day, even though the birthday baby in question was a bit fussy due to not feeling well!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Understand what you would like done, and then allow the expert to make corrective adjustments. Fully understand the pricing and ask questions if you're unsure. Sign a contract before you deliver any money. Read the contract before you sign it. Ask for a contract, outlining all the services you requested and a quote/invoice with a price breakdown.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Am I, the client, able to commit to the session in a timely manner? We are just as busy as you are and to be considerate of both our times and schedules, it's best to truly look at your upcoming few weeks and set aside time for your portraits to be properly done. I offer one free rescheduling for my clients, with one additional rescheduling at $150. If additional rescheduling is needed, we will discuss further via in person or over the phone!
