About
With over 25 years of experience under my belt, I still get excited to come to work every single day! My goal as a stylist is to help my clients achieve their hair goals and to ULTIMATELY love their hair again! As your stylist I will educate you on your hair and scalps chemistry so you can fully understand the issues your're having and how to overcome them.
Once you know the basics I teach you, you will be on the road to the most amazing hair you have ever had! I'll give you tips I promise you've never been given before. I pride myself on educating my clients and if you are ready for a whole new salon experience, I encourage you to give me a chance. Every client has 7 days from the day of your appointment to communicate any issues you are experiencing so I can get you in to address them at no added charge to you. (Anything brought to my attention after the first 7 days will encur a charge for full service.)
I am Difiaba Colourist, specializing in individual customized hair color to fit my clients needs and expectations while preserving the hairs integrity.
Over the years I've owned 4 salons, managed a handful including 3 Salon & Day Spas for Gary Callan International in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands where I was also a featured Platform Artist representing the USA. Coloured and styled Miss Cayman Islands 2000, Jacqueline Bush, in preparation for Miss Universe.
I've competed in multiple competions earning me some of the top awards in the industry in Men's, Women's and Fantasy catagories.
Honestly, I can say its putting a smile on my clients faces when I achieve the look they wanted. The amount of referrals I've recieved over the years is the highest compliment I could ever recieve and I feel the customer service I provide and the individual detail has a lot to do with it.
One thing is for sure is I get excited about EVERY SINGLE appointment I complete. Passion is something I'm definately NOT lacking!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's really important to have a thorough consultation with my clients. I need to know their needs, goals and past experiences that caused them to stray from their previous stylist, because we don't want to repeat those. I want to create a great experience for my clients to help gain their trust.
I encourage clients to bring multiple inpiration photos so I know what direction we are heading. If there is something they want and I know it can't be acheived due to the risk of the hairs integrity, I won't attemp it. Honesty and being forward with my clients is key so no false expectation will be given. Sometimes a client wants a certain color, or cut, or even style but their hair isn't the right candidate. It's unfortunate, but I strive to find alternate options to satisfy the client. Last but not least, Pricing. An estimate of cost will be given before the service is started, however its a ball park figure. If changes arise during the services, the client will be notified. (extra color costs, toning, undisclosed product issues that would result in extra steps and time)
Maybe you don't have a vision or idea of what you want, thats ok, I LOVE CREATING NEW LOOKS and doing MAKEOVERS! Don't worry, I've got you covered!

*Ficocellos Advanced Hair Academy: Started as an Advanced student, was placed in the Color Educator position after two weeks of a 10 month program.
*Educated in Schwarzkopf, Matrix, Kadus, Redken, Framesi, Tutto, Wella, Goldwell color and product lines.

***Continuing Education is extremely important to me, and over the past 25+ years I've attended endless classes and through Covid-19, with the In-Person Training limitations, I still continue training via Zoom, YouTube, and any other avenues that present themselves. My philosphy has always been, you will NEVER know everything in this industry as its always evolving. The moment a stylist stops learning is the moment they start failing. Failure has NEVER been an option for me.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I have a standard base price for each service. Length only effects the price if extra product is needed to complete chemical services, such as haircolor, Keratin, hair treatments and Texture Treatments. Blowouts are dependant on hair length and thickness as well due to more time to achieve the completed service. Please mention if you have long (Below Shoulders) or extra thick hair so the proper time can be scheduled in for your service.
The length of hair or amount cut has no bearing on the price. (Shampooing is always complementary with all cuts, and will not effect the pricing if you wish to be cut dry.)
How did you get started in this business?
This is kinda embarassing, but I married at the young age of 18 and I wanted to go to school to be a Autobody Technician to restore Hotrod cars. Yes, I was quite a tomboy growing up and was raised with boys working on cars. Long story short, my THEN husband didn't want me to do something more manly than him so he suggested I go to Hair School since I loved makeup and doing my hair. Yep I was a Girly Girl Tomboy if there is such a thing. So I did, I went to Cosmetology school and FELL IN LOVE WITH IT! Shhhh! Don't tell him that! and well....the rest is history!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked will all types and I love a challenge! I welcome EVERYONE!!!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have so many, but as I said before I LOVE A CHALLENGE! I had a new request come in wanting to take her box died hair to a beautiful salt and pepper. After a thorough consultation we set up her Color correction transformation appointment and after 8 hours in the chair, we achieved the look she was wanting. Seeing a client's face after you gave them the impossible is the most gratifying feeling in the world. I have many more stories like this, but this one sticks out the most in my mind as it's the most recent and it was beautiful.
***I love when I'm able to dig into the chemistry aspect of this industry, hence my business name, Beauty Geek VIP. I'm the Beauty Geek and I try to treat every single client as they are my VIP guest!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
When selecting a Pro, be sure you have questions prepared to ask them. Is that stylist educating you on your services? Products? Suggesting options? Are they talking to you or through you?
You want to feel comfortable and confident with the person you are working with. If you are experiencing any doubt, it may not be a perfect fit.
Be sure to choose a stylist who is on the same page as you in achieving your hair goals. Be patient as there may be hidden challenges that may pop up, so allow your stylist to navigate through them properly. There are NO shortcuts in this industry and realize perfection takes time in the chair. Don't schedule your appointments on days you are limited on time, as we cannot speed up the process without compromising on the end results.
Always, ALWAYS, be honest on what products you are using on your hair and what you've used in the past...EVERYTHING! This includes Henna, Sun IN, Coconut Oil, Splat, colored shampoo and conditioner, etc. Also mention if you swim or have well water! Not disclosing these very important details can end up in unnecessary damage and costs.
