My name is Michael McCoy and I am the lead headshot photographer at MP Studios Tampa. I specialize in working with business professionals who need to make the best first impression. I spent a number of years studying under some of the top photographers in the world, many of whom photograph celebrities. During that time I noticed a gap in the way people respond to pictures of celebrities and the average corporate headshot. I close that gap by teaching business professionals how to look like a celebrity in front of the camera. I'm a published author and speaker who is known for making people look confident and approachable in front of the camera. After my clients see the pictures I take of them, they wish they looked that good every day.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I use a 5-step process to ensure the picture perfect headshot.
Step one is identifying the individual persona of my subject and understanding what type of image is going to have the strongest impact on my subjects' target market.
Step two is the proformance, which identifies which angles and expressions work best for a particular person.
Step three is the pose. This is where you get in front of the camera and go through a coaching process to get the right angle, expression, and look your very best.
Step 4 is perfection. Once the client and myself have picked out the best images from the session, the retouching process begins. Here i'll make sure the colors pop, the contrast is brilliant, and the brightness matches.
Step 5, publication. Once the images have been retouched and delivered, it's your job to post them actoss your social media platforms, website, and other media sites you may have. Simple as that.

Sessions start at $250 and include one high-resolution retouched headshot. Additional images may be purchased the day of the shoot.
How did you get started in this business?
I started out photographing weddings when I was 13 years old, spent 5 years photographing weddings and traveled to Tampa where I saw a lack in quality of corporate headshots. From there I spent the next 6 years mastering the art of the headshot traveling everywhere from London to California and identifying everything a business professional looks for in a headshot.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our Hero's Luncheon honors and remembers the service personelle of the Tampa Bay area and I have had the privilage of photographing the event for the last several years.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
