What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We have a very simple booking process that walks client virtually through each step. Understanding that our clients are busy people is important. That's why we keep the boring parts of your planning your session as easy and quick. The fun parts like looking for photo inspiration on Pinterest, choosing the perfect location and the actual photoshoot are what should be enjoyed. We look forward to serving all of your photo needs and creating a dream session just for you! Remember, you should enjoy the experience just as much as the photos. That's our motto friends!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
After many years of practice and online education from the leaders in the photography business, we started Atlanta Portait Photography. Being able to create and meet wonderful people is such a blessing. We have over 10 years' experience between are small, amazing team. Our photographers are trained to shoot in natural and studio light. We continually work on our craft by taking classes, shooting in different lighting scenarios, and constantly improving our technical skills. Giving clients our best is so important.

How did you get started in this business?
My husband inspired me with the idea because who knew I was a people person and my love for photography helped get me started. We had one converstation and bought my first camera kit the next day. You should never wait on things like....dreams. Starting a photography business or any business for that matter is not easy but its worth it all the same. I have met amazing families, captured 1000's of beautiful memories and enjoyed every moment.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with moms, dads, babies and kids. Our growing families mean so much to us. We love working with Atlanta individuals and families!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We recently shot a big gala event. I was the main photographer for the headshots for the guests. My photo assistant was a big help with the setup and keeping the whole process streamlined for guests. Everyone loves her! They received their gallery of the all the headshots the next day and were thrilled to be able to deliver their clients headshots so quickly. Delivering high quality photos fast is our main goal. Sharing photos is caring!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure the photographer is a professional. You typically can tell this by asking a few questions and by how they communicate with you. This means they have experience and business insurance. You should be able to view their work and reviews from clients. This is a must. That way you know what type of style of photography they offer and what to expect. Photo contracts are another must. This protects the client and photographer. Clients know they can reach us by calling, texting, emailing, or reaching us on social media. Communication is so important these days. You will be spending a lot of time corresponding with your photographer, so make sure you like them. Hope these tips help!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What type of photos am I looking for? Look online on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and Google photos for inspiration.
Do I want an outdoor or indoor photo session? By looking at photos online you'll be able to tell what type you like better.
Do I love posed or more natural lifestyle photos more? You're in luck, we photograph both. It's still nice to know whether you like one style more because you can communicate this to your photographer and they can capture more of exactly what you love.
Do I want to do a mini session or full session? Some clients love a 1-2 hour session with many different poses and backgrounds. However, some families don't have time for all that and want something quick, easy and fun. That means you want a mini session which is typically around 30 minutes. Sometimes less is more.
