Bob Felderman Photography
About
Editorial and Commercial Photographer. Basically, my skills and experience cover almost every aspect of professional photography. A review of my portfolio, BobFeldermanPhotography.com, will show you my many areas; portraits, family, engagements, headshots, aerial, real estate, construction, inspections, street, sports, lifestyle, entertainment, and magazines.
Storytelling with imagination through still and moving images has always been the most fun in my life. After a decade of self-learning about many photography aspects, I attended college, which was a blast learning all of the nuts and bolts of photography. My focus turned to documentary or editorial photography, primarily for exhibitions and galleries.
Bob Felderman (b. 1955, Dubuque, Iowa) is a Midwest USA-based editorial and commercial photographer. He has traveled much of our planet, seeking out human interactions. As a strategic planner and operator, he has met various people who lived or worked in poverty, middle and upper-class citizens, and Kings and Presidents who rule or run their nations. This has had an immense impact on his philosophy of life and his storytelling skills. These opportunities helped shape his creative focus on life challenges and opportunities for the inhabitants around the globe, on which his editorial and commercial photography brands now focus. He received his BFA in Photography (summa cum laude) from the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design of Lakeland/Denver, Colorado, in 2021; a BS in Aviation Management & Flight Operations from the University of Dubuque in 1988; and an MS in National Security Strategy in Washington, DC, in 2001. Bob spent four decades serving our nation's military and locally as a real estate broker. Since 2010 he began storytelling through photographs and continued his experiences traveling the globe. He now accepts editorial photography, commercial photography, and writing assignments for press, publications, and other media clients. Look for Bob on the backroads and river roads of America and the world as he uses photography and cinematography to tell stories about people and issues of the day.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
By email or phone call, I use a set of questions to determine the goals and image outcomes of the story. Then, we define the timeline, the images' use, the service length, and the number of images. An example is shooting a family for the cover of a magazine. If the subject is interested in purchasing some photo prints, I may take additional images of individuals in separate grouping (like children or adults). The timeline is 45 minutes to 90 minutes if using one location and no clothing changes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
11 years as an entertainment photographer, published on many websites, social media, and magazines. Graduated from the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Denver, Colorado, with a fine arts degree in photography.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
By bid, depending on answers to questions mentioned above. Typically, $150 to $250 per hour, depending on the needed equipment.
How did you get started in this business?
My personal photos were noticed by a regional magazine and the editor asked me to become one of their independent photographers (a stringer). Which led to me covering some of the greatest and best entertainers in the business. After a decade of self-learning, I took the professional route and attended college for my degree.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Local, national, and international magazines, casinos, corporations, non-profits, galleries, and individuals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A lifestyle magazine hired me for a cover shoot in its Christmas holidays issue, opening two new businesses, and an ad for an athleisure store. It involved my large backdrop, three shadow box lights, and camera gear over two hours on location.
