Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with a new client in person, discuss their needs and ideas, plus discuss when & how we'll proceed, and also let them see actual prints / wall art to view my product quality. After discussing their needs, we can book a session or sessions, sign a contract for their specific needs, and begin!...We flow thru their session, briefly view the images before I start editing...If time is of the essence, I can send images out for a faster turn around time on editing
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Studied the basics + wedding and portraiture at the New York Institute of Photography...Started with small sessions, and weddings and moved on to include different areas of photography since 1993
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Based on client needs including time, travel distance, and 2nd photographer if required, and their budget...Packages or Ala Carte wall art and print works are a set price
How did you get started in this business?
Given a camera for Christmas in 1985 and went crazy from there!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Wedding, Family, Musicians, Personal, Boudoir, 3 small record labels
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Photographing the Legendary 60's thru current musician Booker T. Jones of the famous Booker T & The MG's band, and hearing him play my favorite song of his "Green Onions"!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Snip & save images from various sites like Wedding Wire, or Pintrest, of what they want created to show me so I can get as close to what they desire in their images...Rest up for a session, no smoking or alcohol for a few days before as it shows in the facial skin...bring any special props they have and want to use, like grannies pearl necklace and such
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Ask to view their work, ask about pricing, color coordination of outfits-hair & makeup for a session, session duration and any overtime fees involved, final image quantity and editing time required
