Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Ideally, I like to have a quick phone consultation prior to your appointment, being a new client. However, more intense services may require an in person consult. This ensures that we are on the same page starting out on your hair journey! My time as well as yours is very valuable and this also allows me to know how much time will be needed for your service. Every head that sits in my chair is very different. Professionally speaking, I strive for quality, rather than quantity, as to produce the best results for YOU. I deliver!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Kayes Cosmetolgy School, Noblesville, Indiana, in 2011 earning many certificates in various areas from attitude to performance, as well as being accepted to the Senior Studio for extended education. I have been employed as a professional cosmetologist at Headbangers, The Salon in Pendleton Indiana for 10 years. I have recieved extended education throughout the years by person and virtual.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I have created a pricing system to fit your needs and mine. Services are itemized so that you are paying for each, individual service performed. One appointment you may need a root retouch but not quite ready for a cut, etc., so you would only pay for scheduled services. Many stylist set you up for the exact same service time after time. I perform service to the best of what YOUR hair needs. If you need a mineral erase before color at an appointment, that would be added to ensure the best result. All pricing is baseline and subject to be increased as needed, ie: Extra length, Thickness, Correction, Extra product, etc.
How did you get started in this business?
I had many friends in the industry, a mother who owned a salon, and I always knew it was in my blood!!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Since being in the industry for the past 10 years, I have met an array of personalities. I have a variety of regular salon guests ranging in age 4 years old to 87 years old. I have elderly clients, middle age clients, as well as, children, all with needs that needed to be improvised in various ways to offer proper services. Everyone deserves to feel good about themselves!!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
If you are hesitant when choosing a new hair artist, it is totally understandable!! After all, our hair is our crown; the first thing others usually notice. I would advise baby steps. Maybe start with a simple service. Get a feel for the stylist...as in many areas of life, you should mesh, vibe, be able to relate to your stylist and feel confident with relaying your needs. If it's all good from there, move forward at your next appointment!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Know what you want. We are professionals, but not total mind readers. Funky to you vs. funky to me could be totally different!! A good pic is nice to give me an idea of where we are destined!
Maintenance and consistency is NO.1 in my book! If you are getting a significant hair service, I will be thorough at your consult with maintenance. Hair goals are just that: GOALS. Doesn't always happen in a single sesh.
