About
I work to capture more than the usual, listening to clients and honoring their wishes, and being creative as well as traditional. Although I take my protography seriously, I also try to make it fun. I also I apply extemsive post session processing of the images, and there is no limit to the number of photos I will take for you.
I enjoy meeting and developing a rapour with my clients. With weddings, I like to capature the emotion and symbolism of the event. There are many opportinities at the recption to photograph the interaction between those present.
I also love to conduct trash the Dress or Rock the Frock styles of photography. This includes stunning boudoir photographs and fashion/glamour assignments. I find the creative opportunies simply awesome.
By the way, I also own Once Upon a Gown photography.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. I first meet personally with my clients to understand their needs, and show what I can offer through sample prints and a digital presentation. I also offer advice on what they can do to help make the shoot successful, and what not to do. But most importantly, it is to build trust and get to know each other.
2. Secure all needed contact and venue information as applicable.
3. Develop a plan and implement it.
4. Agree on products and prices for my services. I usually use a flat fee rather than by the hour. Nobody has to watch the clock.
4. Have them select which products they want containing their photographs.
5. I offer digital files via thumb drives, Email transfer, DVDs, archival M Disks, and online viewing by the client and their friends and relatives. I also offer hardcover photo books in various sizes with dust covers.
6. Execute a contract and a release.
7. Stay in contact with the client up to, and through, the assignment. We also visit the venue site in advance, when appropriate, and take notes and shoot pictues to study.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ball State University-Photography, Indianapolis Camera Club, Indiana University-BA degree in Psychology, and the Digital Photography School. I also belong to several photography education and advisory services.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes. It is a flat rate gauged on the length of the event, complexity, and products desired. For weddings we have three packages to select or create a customized package it they prefer. Prices range from $850.00 to $1,500 depending on the assignment and other factors.
I do not require full payment upfront. Only a 25% non-refundable deposit is required with the balance due when the client's photographs are ready. I invoice via secure PayPal through which you can use a credit, debit card or electonic check.

How did you get started in this business?
From early on in my own darkroom and from my general love for photography as an art and a science. Plus a passion to photograph people doing both the usual and unusal.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Weddings and receptions, engaged couples, family portraits, individual portraits, boudoir, portfolios for models, fashion, glamour, Trash the Dress for various outfits, and more. Also, those seeking not only the traditional approach but wish to push the envelope and have fun getting creative.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Photoraphing several models in order to enrich their portfolios. This was a large studio. Also, doing a Bridal Trash the Dress shoot with a bride and her flower girl. It was awesome and they loved all of it. A video was produced as well. Of course this was before the pandemic.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Gage their level of expertise. Photographs pretty much say it all so take a look first. And be aware of the "bottom feeders" who will undercut a pro in price and yet fail to delever a quality product. For weddings, you can't go back and do it over. You would be stuck with mediocre photographs forever.
Ask what products are available. I offer digital files, DVDs, flash drives, archival DVD-M Disks, and on-line viewing by the client and their friends and relatives. I also offer hard cover photo-books in various sizes with dust covers.
Check the wording in reviews they have received. Stars are just a summary.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Try and get a clear picture of what you are expecting. Determine the validity of their work and ask for examples. Also, what kind of relationship you wish to establish with the pro. Will they be easy to get along with, and how do they go about photographing various types of events. For example, do they use a flash during a wedding ceremony? They shouldn't if all possible.
