    Frequently asked questions

We have a consultation via phone or in-person so I can listen and get an idea of their visual needs, and determine if it's a good fit. I give the client pricing options and how many images they can expect to select from and receive as final edits. Then I develop a vision board or shot list with them if necessary.  We come to an agreement upon the details for the photoshoot or event coverage and I lock it in on my calendar.

I have been a professional photographer for over 10 years. While majoring in languages at Indiana University I also worked for the Indiana Daily Student as a photojournalist covering countless campus events. I took some photo courses during and after college, but what is more important is real-life experience. I have established myself in Indianapolis as an event and portrait photographer, and a freelancer for the major publications in the city.

    Event Photography:

    Family & non-profit events: $200/hour.  One-hour minimum fee of $325.

    Corporate events:  $250/hr. Two-hour minimum of $500.

    Portraits:  Please consult.

I was already passionate about photography in high school and by college knew that I wanted to be at it full time. Working for the paper was the best way to hone my skills on camera and to learn how to photograph a variety of events, capture their movement and energy, and take portraits that express humanity and dignity.

    Just about every kind.

One client I enjoy working with regularly over the past 3 years is Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance because they send me to small towns around the state to photograph the landmarks and attractions, then synthesize my images for wallpaper murals in their offices.

My favorite events to cover are cultural events that are lively, have colors, movement, and powerful traditions. Music and dance photography are always exciting for me. I lived in Rio de Janeiro for 2 years and have covered Carnaval 6 times and recently documented samba school preparations for Carnaval during the pandemic.

Take a look at their portfolio or Instagram to get an idea if they shoot in the visual style you are looking for. Know that there is a range of styles and pricing and that generally, you will get what you pay for. If you are needing coverage of an important event, high-quality photography is worth every penny. It will preserve the memory for you long after it is over and can be shown to many generations to come.
