Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always start with a thorough consultation. What their likes and dislikes are about their current style. We look at pictures to make sure we are both on the same page. I am a firm believer of the integrity of the Clients hair. I will be upfront with you and tell you if your hair is ready for a big change in color or a specific color you want to achieve , is attainable in one visit or multiple.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have done many color education classes and cutting classes over the years. I've also been trained and Certified in many Hair extensions types. Great Lengths, Babe, and hand-tied sewn in weft. Just to name a few. Along with being Certified with Alexandria body sugaring for many years. For those who have curly hair and looking for someone to cut your curls correctly, I've been certified in the ever growing Curly girl by Deva.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I have standard pricing for all my services From time to time I will have an increase. I give my clients plenty of notification letting them know of the up-coming price change and explain the reason for increase. Hair extensions services all require a consultation for pricing. And are not listed nor quoted over the phone.
How did you get started in this business?
I always loved playing with hair and creating updos on my friends. The passion I had, continued to grow thru the years, landing me to beauty school, shortly after I graduated from High School. I graduated 2 weeks early in the class and started my first job at a Salon before I even walked across the stage. There, I received my diploma for a trade in Cosmetology. I continued to work for the same salon for approximately 7 years, until I decided to go out with another Stylist opening our own shop, having it be booth rental. 7 1/2 years later, we are still in business working behind the chair nearly everyday and at times more weekends than I'd like. . What can I say, I love my job, it's my passion and don't regret for a second the career I've chose.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked and seen pretty much all! Conservative, edgy, colorful hair, curly hair, thin hair, crazy ones, late ones, very picky ones, and your high maintenance ones. I love each and every one for those very specific reasons. Everyday is a new day that I create. I've heard more stories than your average counselor In a therapy session, ive experienced happy times and sad times , death of my clients. Just like anyone else, there are days I just need a mental day for myself, but on more days than not, I am a therapist ready for my client to unload while making them absolutely beautiful just by touching their head. Leaving my clients much less stressed than when they walked in. There isn't any other profession that can do that.
