Frequently asked questions

I introduce myself first. Then I have them sit in my chair and we talk about the service we are going to do.

The color I use is All-Nutrient. it is organically blended and the color process starts out with being washed first, most other colors do not. So for a first time client having a color they do not know that. I have to educate on why that is done.

The results are fantastic.

my education has been many. I  have gone the  required education All-Nutrient offered to learn about their color line. I became a color expert with their line.

I did very well in cosmetology, I was managing a salon in Lowell “Shears at Sears” many years ago. They were moving the Salon to NH, that’s where I said I am getting off this boat, I will not work Sundays. So went looking for a salon to rent. I renting one in Dracut for a few years, then I went to Chelmsford, then to Acton and I wanted to be closer home so I opened one up in our home, in 1993. I felt so blessed by God Awesome love. I named it AWESOME HAIR DESIGNS

I am not sure what you mean by types. Blue collar, yes. Young people, teen to 20 something, yes. Children, yes. Retirees, yes, elderly, yes. All types. Whom ever walks through my door. If I can help them I will.

A few months ago, a young woman posted on Facebook pictures of a horrible haircut she had just got at a salon in Nashua. I could not believe what I was seeing! Totally indescribable! I have never in my life scene any haircut so bad. She was asking if anyone knew where she could go to have it fixed. I private messaged her, told her how many years experience I had and asked to let me handle it. This was not for some one who has not had to fix other people’s screw ups .

She came in, I accessed her hair she was crying, I washed her hair, I recut and blended it, it was beautiful, she cried again only this timed happy tears.

She posted on Facebook, she had found her new stylist.

Just yesterday, I had to say goodbye to a client I had been styling her hair since 1993, just at the end of her blow dry I lost it. She is moving to Arizona. You make Friends in this business loving relationships! It’s hard to see them move and so hard to see them pass away. It can be the most rewarding career

When you are looking for a hair stylist in a new area.

I always tell my clients this: when you see someone’s hair you love stop them ask them where they had it down, write it down. Visit and get a blow dry first. If your not happy at least you have not had anything bad done. Move in to the next.

When see some who’s hair is just awful, stop them ask them what salon they had their hair done at? Write that one down! Make a note not to go there!!

First of all, most people waste too much time thinking about money.

If you go to a salon I realize you think it’s alot of money to maintain your hair. In the long run, safety, and health of your hair having it done in a salon is the way to go. Talk to your stylist. Instead of going every 4 weeks for a color go 6, budget your money. Stop by and pay the salon 10 a week. Or put it in an envelope. Put in a pay pal account until you get to the salon. All these things can be worked out. Buy your self $25.00 gift cards put them aside.

There are so many ways things can be done.

Talk to your stylist is she/he is crass about it cut them loose, you do not need someone in your life that does not care about your needs,  no matter what they are!
