Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every new client is matched to a stylist depending on what they are looking to get done. Once in the salon, the stylist will spend time consulting with client, going over what they are looking to achieve for now and in the future.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All stylists are licensed cosmetologists with extensive ongoing training in their respective field. If they are providing a specialized service, then they have been trained and certified in that sesrvice.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We have a baseline for all services that are listed on the website. Before a stylist starts the process, they will go over what the price expectation should be for their visit.
How did you get started in this business?
Elle Salon is a state of the art salon located on Main Street in Reading, Massachusetts. It is the inspiration of Lisa DeLeo, an established salon owner with over 30 years of experience.
Lisa has redesigned the first floor of 328 Main Street and transformed it into an upscale salon with cathedral ceilings and dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows that extend across the length of the salon. Since Lisa renovated the space from the ground up, she was able to equip the salon with a ventilation system that helps eliminate the fumes caused by today’s specialized hair treatments.
What types of customers have you worked with?
There is no typical client in our salon. We work with young, old, and inbetween.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
On Sunday, September 10th, 2017, we ran a Hair-Cut-Athon at a town-wide street fair. We sponsored a local charity (Mission of Deeds) and through the generosit of our vendors we were able to have many raffles and giveaways for everyone who showed up. We brought all our supplies and literally cut hair in the middle of the fair. People were thrilled with the outcome of their hair and we were thrilled with the money we generated for our charity. All around it was a win-win.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ask questions and make sure that the people (from the front desk to the stylist) are knowledgable and listen to all of your wants and concerns. Don't let a stylist make decisions for you. It should be a collaberatin between you and your stylist.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I think a great way to see what kind of work your stylist has done is to check out their instagram or facebook page. If you can't see their work, you won't know what kind of stylist you are getting. Bring in pictures of what you want done, and ask if this is a look she has achieved before.
