Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Speak to them first and see what they want. Decide on a time and place and also discuss clothing and such. I don't normally use flash and depend on reflectors and natural light.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self-taught and have, over the years, also worked with some great photographers. I have been lucky enough to be around great photographers.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Each job is unique and I prefer to work with people to come up with a fair price for both of us.
How did you get started in this business?
I have been photographing since I was a child. I have been selling work to stock agencies for years.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Private or families. I do not do weddings and formal functions.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Family photos for fellow teachers at the beach which included their daughter who was about to graduate from our school.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I don't overly stage my photos and attempt to photograph in a more journalistic manner. I also love a variety of photography that depicts nature and landscape as well as architectural photos.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I think it is more important to view a person's work and then decide on what your project is and if the person has the ability to meet your needs.
