    Frequently asked questions

If it's a big event or shoot I always like to meet ahead of time to discuss the customer's goals for the photographs and the circumstances. If it is something simple, I typically ask customers to do a bit of searching and thinking about what kinds of photographs appeal to them and what they'd like. For instance, for engagement photos do you like the light, airy photographs? The genuine, even toned photos? Vivid colors? For commercial/product shoots, I try to drill down on the emotion/reaction the client wants to evoke and how that leverages their brand.

My photography education started way back when in high school. Since moving to digital some years ago, I have studied the styles and processes of the modern masters and have worked one-on-one with some of the top photographers in the industry. I have made significant investments in my craft and the learning never stops!

I do have standard rates published on my Web site. But often times pricing is negotiable, given the subjective nature of photography. We both just need to have a clear understanding of what's expected. It may turn out to be less, or sometimes more. It will always be competitive. And I do offer Fash clients a break in price and generosity with my time.

I don't remember. It just evolved over time until it became a boundless passion.

Commercial clients, trade associations, aspiring and professional models, actors, Moms, Dads, and an occasional animal.

I stalked a male lion walking through the Okavango Delta in Botswana back in 2014 and got some amazing shots. Took several wonderful hours I'll never forget.

Do your homework. Ask questions. Some photographers have a certain consistent look, others offer a lot of variety. Decide on a style that suits you.

What emotion/reaction do you want to evoke? Keep an open mind because an experienced photographer may have a great idea you haven't thought of.
