How did you get started in this business?
I've always been an artist, whether it was drawing or carpentry, but photography connected with me on another level. But to keep it short & simple, one day I just picked up a camera and I have yet to put it down.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with a range of different people; and the best part of it all, is that many of my clients aren't even models. Along with shooting models, I've also worked with yoga instructors, real estate agents, coaches & athletes, medical school students, barbers, etc. Your typical "everyday-people" who aren't always used to having a camera in their faces. I enjoy the challenge.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advice to a customer looking for a professional photographer is to foremost, consider a pro who will take the time to get to know you. Its further important that the photogapher values quality over quantity, is honest with you, and will deliver to you everything she or he promises.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Before hiring, customers should definitely ask which area of expertise the photographer specializes in - whether it be portraits, fashion, landscape, weddings, parties, sporting events, etc. It will also be beneficial to ask the photographer whether they are willing to travel to you, or not. But generally, customers should ask questions that woiuld give them a good feel of who they're entrusting to capture their special moments.
