Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We chat initially over email to determine if we're a fit. Then, based on the amount of coverage needed (wedding vs family photos) we meet in person or over the phone to finalize details and to share examples with you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been doing photography for over 30 years, starting with black and white film (did my own dark room work) and now using full frame, DSLR gear!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Corporate rate $75/hr
Weddings are $775 for the first hour and $170 for all hours after that
Family sessions are fixed cost $170
ALL pricing includes local travel, editing, full release of images and touch ups
How did you get started in this business?
7th grade... "borrowed" my dad's Minolta 35 mm and fell in love with photography. Since then I've traveled the world with my camera (USSR, India, Japan, Mexico, Hong Kong, etc) capturing what I see. Started doing weddings in a professional capacity in 2006 and have since done over 200 of them.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Engaged couples
Married couples
Large families, small families
Corporate events, headshots, advertising campaigns
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Beach wedding on Lake Michigan... super bright day, but was able to move people around and adjust so that no one had to squint and the gorgeous sky still looked amazing!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ask lots of questions. Ask things like "who is your back up if something happens to you?", "what do you do to make sure all images are safe from being erased?", That kind of thing
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Is this something I'd like to hire out so that I know the images are perfect and I don't have to worry about asking a friend to deal with it. Do I want a professional to do this and remove any stress related to this day around photography?
