I love meeting new people and learning their "life stories" so I can better capture images that help tell their stories. Whether an event, like a wedding or a corporate event or portrait, it's my goal to create images with that "wow factor" that makes my clients fall in love with their images.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We prefer to have a consultation for all clients, so we know their needs and expectations. This is a crucial first step for a successful session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have attended and graduated from the Navy Schools of Photography, Syracuse University's Military Photojournalism Program, and various online education programs. I firmly believe in ongoing education, such as attending the annual WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Professionals International) conference.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our pricing varies depending on the assignment type and the client's needs.
How did you get started in this business?
I fell in love with photography at 12 while looking through classic magazines such as LIFE, LOOK, and National Geographic. In high school, I was a yearbook and newspaper photographer and started my professional photography career in the US Navy after seeing the Life Series of Photography books featuring many Navy and other military photographers' work.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my customers now are clients who need portraits, wedding coverage, or other corporate event coverage. As a photojournalist, I covered president Ronald Reagan and George HW Bush, as well as the full spectrum of the human experience, from the homeless to famous musicians and artists. This vast experience has helped improve my work resulting in national and international awards, including Military Photographer of the Year in 1987 and 1988.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Weddings are our primary events, and to choose one would be impossible. However, we photographed a location wedding in Jamaica with a fantastic couple that will consistently rank among our favorites. I was a photographer for Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica for 5 months working with the military and the National Science Foundation, which was terrific.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I'd advise speaking directly with the photographer and learning what you can expect and what they can deliver. Too many clients treat photography as a commodity, so they look at pricing instead of value and quality. In reality, you are commissioning an artist whose medium is photography.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think of the result of what you want from your session. Part of that is learning the photographer's style you want to hire. Do you prefer candids, posed, or a combination of both? Do you want a large wall portrait or digital files for online use if it's portraiture? For events, do you want an album? The most crucial aspect is researching the photographer and deciding if the photos they create move you.
