About
My clients receive a very personalized service from me. I always tell my clients, "these are YOUR photos and videos, don't be afraid to tell me what you like or don't like or to make requests!" When I'm interacting with my clients, I want them to feel that their needs are a priority, that I care about them as people, not as a paycheck. I pride myself on being approachable and pleasant to work with. Making my clients happy makes me happy! I love working with happy people! People are generally very excited at weddings, but even when things get tense, I tend to throw in a little humor to ease the mood. Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically exchange a few emails in the beginning to find out the basic event details. From there I'll either meet for coffee to learn more about my clients or speak with them over phone or video chat to get more details. If they choose to move forward with me as their photographer I have a contract that we sign and they will put a deposit down to reserve their date. Generally, we will have a consult 2 weeks before their event date to go over all the final details and timeline. About a day or two after the event I like to give my clients a preview photo of their event. Depending on the event type, the final images or videos are delivered as early as 2 weeks through 12 weeks. Of course, any time a client wants to meet, email, call or text, I'm always happy to speak with them!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I initially took film photography in high school and went on to take digital photography classes after graduating. I studied and trained for about a year to receive my professional photography certification. The certification process consists of a rigorous written exam and portfolio panel review. I keep up with classes and workshops to stay current in my skills and services. I also have a degree in marketing and accounting, which certainly helps to have as a business owner.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Generally, weddings are priced according to the hours of coverage and level of coverage. My base packages start at $1900 for photo, $1600 for video or $2800 for both and go up in price from there depending on coverage.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My clients are definitely not one-type-fits-all! I've worked with clients of all different faiths, different walks of life, urban couples to country folks! I've had clients that have had large budgets and ones that made photography their biggest priority and expense. I keep my heart and mind open to just about anyone and value who they are.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
make sure that the photographers style matches your own vision. There's no point in planning a once in a lifetime event if the photographer you hire cannot capture the day the with the same style. Your photographer should want to know about YOU, not just your budget.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about what you want to remember from your wedding or event. In many cases, the photos or video are what is left of those memories. Be sure to consider how important it is to you to have those moments captured properly and professionally. A professional should have excellent knowledge and skills in photography and should have consistent work to show. A professional should also always have is back up gear and liability insurance. Your photographer should make you feel comfortable and confident. Never be afraid to ask a potential photographer how they are prepared to handle emergency situations!
