Matte B Photography
About
I capture life using both available and artificial light, focusing on capturing images that tell the story of you event, sport, performance, family or organization. My work regularly appears in the Sunday Variety section of the Star Tribune's Scene + Heard weekly feature. I have been hired by many organizations to help them tell the story of their event through photos and video.
A personal project of mine is Dancers of Minnesota, a look into the amazing dancers who make Minnesota one of the national centers of dance. I am also a contributing photographer to Minnesota Dance News.
I love capturing people and events. Using a variety of tools I always strive to deliver a uniquely accurate representation of the event incorporating the artistic tools of the trade.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love meeting new people and capturing their life. My studio is the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum so we can find a backdrop for whatever you are thinking. We will connect, you can find out my style and if it is a fit, we will schedule a date and time and make some memories for your family.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a freelance portrait and photojournalist photographer. I contribute to, among others, the Star Tribune. Check out the Scene + Heard feature found in the Variety Section on Sundays. I started a website called Minnesota Dance News and have made that my personal project, I love capturing action. It is great on the stage, but the real magic happens when we can create the scene with lights and capture the shot we want to get. In addition to the dance I have helped many companies tell the story of their event or organization. Lastly, as a bonus for working with me, all my portrait and business clients have the option of being featured on www.mystorymn.com. Don't worry, there are many who want their photos and event kept private, but just know that we love sharing the stories of our clients.
