Lauren Wuornos Photography
About
Hi everyone!
My name is Lauren and I've been shooting photography for over 10 years. I started out in high school doing portraits with friends, then graduated to focusing more on nature and architecture.
I work with people who have zero experience in front of the camera all the way to models who know what's up. I'm a very laid-back and down-to-earth person who wants you to have fun and laugh along the way!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We'd go through the process of interviewing each other to discuss goals and expectations of the shoot. A lot of other things happen after that but I'm here to guide you and answer any questions you may have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm self-taught with over 15 years of experience. I've learned everything from the ground up and have become a master at "MacGyver-ing" just about anything during my shoots. Because of this I am very much a one-man-band.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I shoot a wide variety of work, so pricing varies per project.
How did you get started in this business?
I didn't know it at the time but I picked it up as a means of art therapy. It's my version of meditation because I get to search for something beautiful and timeless in the present moment.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Humans of all kinds. Corporate CEO's - Family portraits - Weddings - Engagements - Authors - Musicians - Models - Friends. Anyone who can do their best to show up as themselves.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I wouldn't call them events, but there are always little moments throughout the day that make me smile. Absorbing random and sometimes useless Science + Nature + Technology facts make me pretty giddy.
Taking the time, however brief, to look more closely at the sunsets and rising moon is always a pleasure as well.
And of course I can't forget to mention how I've casually picked up watching "cat tv" with my perfect cat named Noodles. Call me crazy (I am) but who knew mindless staring at fountain bird bath could be so relaxing? Not me!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I kindly ask that you research my work. My website ( laurenwuornos.com ) is always available for reference. If you really want to go in depth you can find some online interviews and examples of my personal work through a quick google search too. This is one of the few instances where an uncommon last name sure comes in handy!
Know your intention, your budget, and a rough estimate of how many edited shots you'd like.
If you'd like to go above and beyond you can share a "mood board" or collage of random images with me. It's very helpful to get an outline of what you have in mind and takes out a lot of guesswork.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
For what purpose do I want to hire a photographer? Do I know my budget? Or how many shots I'd like to have? What do I want to wear? Will I be comfortable wearing it?
Don't worry though, I'm here to guide you through this process. Team work makes the dream work ;)
