About
I am a visual artist working to create simple but beautiful imagery. Whether that is photography or design I love to transform an idea and make it lasting. I work with my customers to find the right language to bring their idea to life. I work a lot with negative space to create lightness in my work. Using color as a tool to bring life and fun into each piece.
As a photographer with experience in both digital and film I offer varying aesthetic options. And as a designer with a photography background I use a lot of imagery making your brand stand out.
I love using natural lighting and making sure it is used properly. Light used correctly can add a lot to photography. In my designs I love to keep my typography light and modern. I have a lot of fun using color in my work.
I enjoy coming together with someone else's vision and bringing fresh ideas. I love getting to work with a variety of brands and create beautiful work.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer I like to meet them either over the phone or in person. This way I can hear about all of the expectations right from the start. I think the best results happen when both parties are understood.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in Photography and Creative Writing from the Kansas City Art Institute. I also have ample experience in graphic design. Since leaving college I became a full time creative assistant at a small business handling all photography and graphics for their newsletter and facebook pages.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I offer a mini session (1-2 hrs) half day price (4ish hrs) and a full day price (8 hrs). This helps keep my pricing competitive and my quotes accurate.
How did you get started in this business?
I started in high school when I took a few different art classes. Photography stuck out as something that came naturally to me and since then have committed to growing my skills. After graduating university I have spent most of my professional time in the commercial photography field.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I most often work with small businesses for any commercial/lifestyle photo needs they have. A lot of my clients have been from the food/drink industry.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently did a project with Dairy Farmers of America where we shot lifestyle images for their national conference. The concept was farm to table and we were in charge of shooting all of the table top shots with a couple other angles. My favorite scenes from this shoot you will see in my profile. They are "Brunch" and "Pizza Night". This project took us about a day and a half to set up, style and shoot the four different scenes.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would suggest looking at their work. Look at their profile, instagram and website for references. If you like what you see then make them an offer! But keep in mind the better skilled a person is the more financial investment it might be.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I love when clients come with some visual representations. I know that sometimes it is hard to iterate just exactly what you are looking for so use the internet and grab some inspiration.
Also always ask yourself what feeling you want to come through your project. Is it light and fun or more dramatic and moody. Think about it and hopefully your visuals can help with that.
