We’re Greensboro’s first wine bar, located on Battleground Ave. just north of downtown. Rioja is a relaxed place to meet friends, enjoy great wines, small plates and desserts.
We offer over forty wines by the glass. Our full wine selection features over 800 wines to enjoy. To enhance the aromas and flavors of each wine, we use the finest Riedel crystalware. Each glass of wine is a generous six-ounces and our flights of wine include three, two-ounce pours, served with a gourmet cheese sampler. This gives you the opportunity to compare wines from different regions.
Our creative small plates & snacks feature classic flavors from around the world. Specialties include a world-class cheese selection, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, cured meats from around the world and locally crafted chocolate truffles.
We work hard to find great value and provide you with an eclectic wine selection, offering selections from around the globe.
We also function as a retail shop & offer $10 off all bottles togo, plus a 10% discount on the purchase of 6-11 bottles and 15% discount on the purchase of 12-more bottles.

I’m a Certified Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers. One of only two in the Greensboro area.

Our pricing depends on participation and consumption, however, we have options at all price points.
How did you get started in this business?
Our business has grown steadily, here in Greensboro, over the past 15 years. This was always our vision.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We always want to flexible and allow our customers to be creative and have fun! We host private events at Rioja. We cater events off site and we’re happy to make deliveries.
