We enjoy the creativity that goes into the conceptualization of each dish. We love seeing the look of joy on our clients' faces or hearing about the positive experience and feeling our clients have once eating our food or attending one of our events. The joy comes from cultivating moments that help clients create good memories.     It all began one fall day in the Nation's Capital... Veronique MacRae, a former team member of Iron Chef Jose's Garces' The Rural Society in Washington, DC and former Executive Chef of The Potter's House in Adams Morgan and David "DC Dave" Johnson, an experiential marketing expert representing clients such as Coca-Cola, Stella Artois and The MacCallan with a background in culinary management, desired to create food options that were fresh, flavorful and fun with special attention to the sourcing of ingredients and flavor combinations.    From their conversation one fall evening in 2013, The Tasty Alternative was born.  A catering and gourmet chef service company providing modernized and elevated versions of classic comfort dishes that are gluten free and vegan along with options for persons with various dietary needs such as allergen friendly, flexitarian (meat offerings) and specified requests (diabetic friendly,etc).  Each dish is built with the foundation of quality ingredients and each client is treated with the utmost respect in hopes of creating not only superb food but also a memorable experience. With its start in Washington, DC in November 2013, The Tasty Alternative now serves clients in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina and the DMV region (Washington, DC, Maryland, Northern VA).  Out of area services are available upon request.
