My father put a camera in my hands at the age of 10 and the rest is history. I hold an MA in photojournalism from the University of Missouri where I learned how to capture moments and emotions as well as how to light people to best tell their stories.

The journalistic style that I learned carries over into my work with people for portraits, headshots, events. However, I have long-standing interests in nature photography as well as architecture. I created a hardcover book of my landscapes of Grinnell College when I was a student. I've also photographed a Louis Sullivan jewel-box bank for another book.

Finally, I print photographs on high quality papers using pigment-based inks and frame in-house as well as create stretched canvas prints. I believe in quality over quantity. That means that I choose to employ excellent materials that cost more, but stand the test of time. My prints will last not only for your lifetime, but for the lifetimes of those to whom you pass those photos down.
