Reflections By Cathy Foreman
About
By niche I am a concert photographer; so I have a certain eye when comes to capturing candid photos. I also have a penchant for black and white photography with a little grit as I believe it creates a different aesthetic and aides in the telling of a story, but I deliver color photos for traditional client photography.
I'm mostly known for turning my music photos into works of art which have been exhibited bothe domestically and internationally.
I really enjoy the act of being able to see things differently. I gain a tremendous pleasure from capturing those "in between" moments as I believe those spaces are where the magic happens.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to connect with my clients so that I can fully understand what it is you are looking for; this creates a sort of collaboration ensuring that we can create the best photos from your session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self-taught and have been photographing for seven years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
For events, I have an hourly rate of $105, not including weddings, which I consider event by event. I capture as many photos as I can during that time. I then cull the best images and present them to you in a lookbook, from which you will choose your favorites. You will receive 30 instant downloads and the ability to purchase prints.
For portrait sessions, I have a flat rate for sessions that comes with 5 digital downloads and a lookbook to purchase prints.
How did you get started in this business?
The camera literally fell into my lap with a camera being unclaimed at a hotel where I worked. I started taking it with me everywhere and would photograph my friends at small get-togethers and on day trips I'd take with my mom. Then, by chance, I got into music and felt that my photos lacked the soul of what I felt standing just inches from the performing artist. That is when I started to incorporate textures and creating artwork from those images.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Musicians, authors, graduates, engagement sessions, weddings and events.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you understand what the photographer delivers as far as their aesthetic and that it matches what you are looking for.
