About
I've been in the cosmetology business since 1989. I took a few years off to raise my 2 wonderful kids and have been back in this business since 2009. It's a great career to be in. Fun and fulfilling everyday. I keep current in today's trends by going to hair shows and classes. I've tried other professions but nothing excites me more than a client who's unhappy with their hair and then leaves my salon feeling beautiful and confident. A lot of stylist don’t listen to the guests in their chair. I take pride in listening. Nothing is more important to me than to listen to my guests hair care needs!!!
Perms are my specialty. I also love working with color from covering grey, highlighting, bayalge, ombre, or corrective color and everything in between. You can do so much with color from enhancing the color you have now, adding dimension with some highlights or lowlights. Maybe that grey hair is coming in and you're not sure what to do about it. I know how to keep it simple or go all the way with a new look. Being creative and seeing how excited the client is when they leave my chair is so rewarding. Cosmetology is the best career to have!!!!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to sit down with them so they're feeling comfortable and at ease. I'll have them start the consultation by telling me what I can help them with. I'll ask lots of questions until we are both agreed upon the same plan. If the client wants a service that will compromise the Integrity of their hair, I WILL NOT PERFORM THAT SERVICE. I LISTEN to my clients wants and needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started in this business?
When I was in high-school, it would take me 2 hours to fix my hair every morning. Each side had to be perfect. Then at age 14, I started getting perms and highlights regularly by the same stylist, Tracy. She owned a salon and would tell me that if I would go to cosmetology school, she'd hire me. I really adored her and I knew I could learn a lot from her. I graduated high school and went to Michell's Hair Styling Academy and while learning in college, I worked for Tracy as an apprentice. And that's how it all got started.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with a lot of different types of hair, and different personalities. My clients rage in age from 12 years old to 99 yrs, men and women. My very first client on the school floor is still my client today at 99 years young!!!
