Frequently asked questions

When I first meet with a Client I like to hear their "hair story". It is important for me to know what your hair has been through and what you would ultimately like to achieve. There is no such thing as bad hair or good hair. Hair has to be trained. Once I know your story, I can formulate a plan.

I have been trained in numerous professional product lines. I have, as well, taught and been a trainer for some product lines and hair cutting/coloring techniques. I have been doing hair for 15 years, plus.

My prices on services vary throught out the year. You can visit my booking sight at anytime to view pricing and any special promotions I may be having at the time.

I got started in this business helping a friend that was a hair stylist while I worked at the bank. I also, had a few friends that were barbers. I had done my own hair, cutting and coloring it, since middle school and always got compliments. So I began as a hobby, working in my friends salon as an apprentice. Because she was also a board certified instructor, at that time NC allowed this, and I was able to receive credit hours by working for her. I was actually in the banking industry at the time and realized I had a natural talent for healthy hair. I had a passion for the beauty industry in a way that made me realize I should probably persue it. So I did.

I am a very well rounded person and stylist, as well. My customers are all ages, nationalities, and races. I have extensive history working in retail salons where you never know who will walk in. It is like catching a football and having to run. I had to quickly assess what hair type they had and what I could do to achieve whatever picture they brought or vision they had for their own hair. I love and enjoy talking to all kinds of people with all kind of different experiences and perspectives on life. It is probably 75% of why I love what I do.

One of the things that makes my career so fun is when someone has an idea of something they want to do with their hair that seems a little out of the box and I achieve it for them and they love it. It's like I get to be creative and play with my color and products to make something out of nothing. I recently had a little 5 year old's mom who told her for the summer she could have her hair done however she wanted. She chose the little disney character, Elsa (I think that's her name) and wanted her hair to be pastel. So I mixed up some colors and because she was blond, I have her chunks of blue, pink, and purple pastel colors throughout her hair...the excitement from that little girl made her mom and me feel like we had made her day! That was priceless.

First, find someone who really loves what they do. Then try to find someone who has a natural talent and ability to do what you like. Third be very honest about what you want to achieve with pictures, if possible. And last, just take the time to really talk to the stylist and to be sure that you are both on the same page.

I don't know if customers always know the right questions to ask because they are not the hair professional, we are. It is up to the stylist to listen to the customer's hair story and then ask questions to find out what needs to take place to give the customer what they want.
