The Achber Studio was established in 1923 and is the oldest family owned photography studio in New Hampshire. We continue the same business philosophy as we did back then. Strive to be the best at what we do and treat clients as friends. Perhaps this is why we have had the honor of being chosen the best photography studio in the Lakes Region year after year. Our photographer, Tim Cameron is the areas only Certified Master Photographer.
Unlike some studios that specialize in specific areas of photography, we have the ability and enjoy the challenges of almost any type of photography work. Some of our favorites arr Family Portraiture & High School Senior Portraits, Business Headshots, Commercial & Advertising Photography.
We also have a complete custom picture framing department for all your custom framing needs. We are also experts at copy and restoration. We can fix your old photographs or copy your artwork for reproduction.
We service the entire Lakes Region of New Hampshire, including: Meredith, Gilford, Wolfboro, Alton Bay, Center Harbor, Moultonboro, Meredith, Laconia, Melvin Village and Tuftonboro on Lake Winnipesaukee. Bristol and Hebron on Newfound Lake. Center Harbor, Sandwich, Holderness on Squam Lake. Sanbornton and Winnisquam on Lake Winnisquam and Laconia on Lake Opechee.
We a very fortunate to work in an industry where we interact with positive happy people who are looking for the same in the vendors that they choose. I never go home and say I had a bad day after interacting with clients. We are truly lucky!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We prefer chatting with our clients by phone in order to understand what they are looking for. Depending on the type of work we are doing, the process varries.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Tim Cameron is a Master Photographer, he is one of the 3% of the photographers nation wide to be Certified and Tim also holds the degree of Photographic Craftsman from PPA for teaching his craft to other.
Mr. Cameron presents educational programs to professional photographers throughout the nation and judges in the New England area. Tim is considered one of the 44 most successful portrait artist in the country and was recently selected to Co-Author the 21st Century Guide to Portraiture. Tim has also published many articles for photography industry magazines & newsletters.
Some of Mr. Cameron's accomplishments include George M. Hastings Award and 20 time winner of the Kodak Gallery or Fuji Masterpiece Award. Tim is the recipient of the "National Award" from Professional Photographers of America for service to the profession.

We have standard pricing for the many different product lines we offer, however we are happy custom package for individuals needing mutiple products.
How did you get started in this business?
Mr. Cameron got stated in middle school years, taking photographs and printing them in the schools darkroom. He then apprenticed for 5 years during High School and College.
After earning his degree Tim took a job as the head photographer at Achber Studio. The studio was established in 1923 by Sam Achber. Sam and his son Harold groomed Tim to become the Master photographer he has become.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with a full range of local individual, families and business as well as vacationing familes and fortune 500 individuals and companies.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
There are so many but the Lakes Region Childrens Auction is one of my favorites.
What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?
These days, photography is practiced by anyone with a smartphone, but it's mastered by few. When it comes to those once-in-a-lifetime moments - when you've got one shot at getting it right - you better make sure the person behind the camera is a pro. There is no substatution for a full time Certified Professional Photographer.
What questions should customers think through before talking to vendors about their needs?
It is best to make sure you know the time frame for the photography and also any deadline for finished product.
Will there be any post production needed IE: Retouching on portraits or enhancements to commercial photographs.
