I've been shooting 30+ years with a background based in Commercial Photography / NYC, which is typically much more stringent in the standards a client expects considering there's usually 1000's (if not Millions) of $$ at stake. If you'll pardon the pun, that tends to "Focus" the mind of everyone in the room along with more than occasional heightened tension that can be the norm.

Which is to say the success of a shoot, aside from the photog's creativity, often comes down to Planning, Foresight and Technical Insight as to what is needed in terms of Lighting, Accessories, Best Time of Day location wise, much less the Location used. This is most often accomplished with an enthusiastic team however it's comprised, all working towards the same goal.

As a result of my time spent in such an environment, I have an extensive background in lighting for Studio or Location, problem solving and the ability to collaboratively create whatever idea you envision. My journey has encompassed Portraiture, Fashion, Lifestyle, Architecture, Still Life, Annual Reports, Boudoir and Landscape. Each facet has its own nuance and I love all of it.

Professional Commercial Photography is a fascinating field in that there are so many aspects to it, each with its own set of parameters. No two shoots are ever the same and they all build towards a catalog of experience which carries forward to the next time where it may be applicable. As a result, it's never boring to me, but rather how to best decipher the puzzle to make each shot look its best.

Being entrusted with somebody's idea and seeing it come alive is always the most fulfilling. I look forward to speaking with you about your unrealized photographic vision :-)
