Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Good communication is always essential to successful photo and video projects. We make it a point to speak with every client, to understand exactly what is wanted, and we always offer ideas and suggestions. We also keep in close touch throughout the completion process, which is especially important on video editing projects, when there are many options for finishing the video.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have more than 30 years expereince as a video director/producer, and as a photographer. I've taken mnay creative courses in film, video and photography, and I frequently attend techicnal semainars to keep current with cameras' lighting equipment, software, and more. When we work on larger projects, all team members have at least 15 years experience in their speciality.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our pricing for all our sevices - video recording. video post-production, still photography, live streaming and more - varies, depending on the size of the project, how much time it will take, what equipment and people are needed, and whether there are any additional costs, such as travel and per diem expenses. We understand that clients are looking for good value for their money, and we always provide excellence, cost-effectively. We try to work within a client's stated budget, and we provide prompt, detailed, price quotes.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with many customers, large and small - individuals, companies, government agencies, the United Nations, and non-profits.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
If you're looking for a photographer, here are a few suggestions: specify the date(s) you want photography. It's very hard to reply to a request when I don't know the exact dates. I may already be booked for a specific day, whether it's a couple of days away or 8 months in the future. Also, speak with any photogrpahers whom you're consdiering, so that you know a little more about them, and they can understand exactly what you're looking for. A good photographer will always ask you questions about your shoot. Finally, while you should certainly consider price, don't make the price quoted the only deciding factor. In photography, as in most things in life, you get what you pay for.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
It's very important for clients to let us know the date(s) they have in mind for their photo and video projects. When Clients tell us that they are not sure of the dates our sevies will be required, we very often have to delcine to provide a cost quote for that job, because we may already be booked. It's also importanet for clients to be realistic about what they are looking for. We provide excellence in all the work we do, but a longer event, or one requiring extra crew members and equipment, is going to cost more than a basic project. We're always competitive on price, but good quality - for example taking time to carefully edit all photos befor delivery to our clients - takes time, and does cost a bit extra.
