Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically a new customer is looking for architectural photography and has either asked a colleague for a referral or has discovered us online.
The first step is pricing or budgeting. Real Estate agents are looking for photographers to make many photographs of a single home for sale, at lower prices. By contrast, we execute dramatic, carefully composed and lighted images for award entries and brand building. Arcitects typically split the cost with the general contractor and interior designer. Builders amortize the cost over the sale of several homes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Jay has thirty plus years of experience. He likes to say he is beginning to get good at it!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Prices range quite a bit, depending on customer needs. For example a builder might have 2 model homes. One will need fewer photographs with a more documentary approach, while another might be a signature product and require the most dramatic images.
How did you get started in this business?
Jay started as the Photo Editor of the "Review," the University of Delaware weekly newspaper. He became highly regarded in the field of wedding photography and has now become a specialized expert in the architecure field.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Builders
Architects
Interior Designers
Yacht Sales
Hotels
Restaurants
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Teamed with a drone pilot expert to make twilight photographs at ground level and aerial views of a 10 story health research building.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Understand that a Real Estate photographer is less expensive and is generally in the beginning stages of his professional development. Jay, on the other hand is a dedicated expert with many years of experience. He is able to work with a wide range of owners, designers and contractors to create attractive, award winning photographs of your architectural vision.
