About

Welcome to my photography profile!

I am thrilled to have you here and share my passion for capturing moments through my lens. My name is Elif Altinbasak, and I specialize in fashion editorial-style portraits with a moody twist. As an artist, I strive to create captivating images that evoke emotions and tell stories.

Photography has always been more than just a hobby for me; it is a way of expressing my creativity and connecting with people on a deeper level. I believe that every individual has a unique story to tell, and my goal is to capture their essence in a way that is both artistic and authentic.

Balancing the many aspects of the photography business is a challenge that I embrace wholeheartedly. From conceptualizing, styling, and planning the shoot to editing and delivering the final product, I am involved in every step of the process. This hands-on approach allows me to maintain creative control and ensure that the final result aligns with my artistic vision.

My style is characterized by its moody and atmospheric quality, which adds a touch of drama to each photograph. I am drawn to the interplay of light and shadow, as well as the subtle nuances of expression and body language. By carefully crafting the composition and utilizing various techniques, I aim to create images that are visually striking and emotionally evocative.

Collaboration is an integral part of my process. I believe that the best results are achieved when there is a synergy between the subject and the photographer. Whether it's a professional model or an everyday individual, I strive to create a comfortable and relaxed environment that allows their true personality to shine through.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope that my work resonates with you and sparks your curiosity. If you have any questions or would like to discuss a potential project, please don't hesitate to reach out. I look forward to the opportunity of capturing your unique story through my lens.

    Frequently asked questions

I start with a free in person consultation.  At the consultaion, we discuss booking a date for the shoot for which I take a $350 retainer, a portion of which will go towards the Collection you choose. Collections and product pricing will be revealed at the free consultation.

Real world experienced working as an assistant and stylist for Megan Alter Photography in Amsterdam and NYC.  I've received years of private lessons as well from Megan Alter herself.

Products and packages will be revealed at the free in person consultation.

When I lived in Brooklyn, I was helping up and coming actors build their modeling portfolio with multi outfit shoots and did headshots. This lead to invites to fashion week and landing a gig doing a Lookbook for fashion brands like Ex Mermaids.  I've styled actors for movie premieres and, in fact, still do so via Zoom.  Meantime I worked part time for Megan Alter Photography while being mentored private lessons.

I had a flurry of Senior Portrait sessions this past fall that were a blast!

Make sure you like their porfolio or style.  Look at their portfolio on an actual computer, not just your phone.  Don't choose a photographer that shoots dark and moody and then ask for sepia soaked sunny shots.  We, meaning us photographers,  have style integrity and, personally, I'd be happier to lose a client to someone that would make you more happy.

What is my budget?  With that in mind, do I want something cheap/fast or do I want to be made into actual visual art to be cherished for generations?  Think about locations and don't be afraid to mention what you did like in the photographers porfolio or have some pics of ideas of your own.
