I started taking photos as a passion in high school, I never imagined it would turn into a full-time job. It's only been a year since I dedicated all of my time to be a photographer in Columbus, OH; but it has been amazing. From wedding & engagement photography to pet photography and family photos, I do it all.
I got my start in 2014 shooting concerts and musical festivals. Slowly friends started asking me to do photos for them. I would book some jobs here and there strictly off word of mouth. Eventually, I got sick of having a desk job and wanted to be my own boss, so I started John R Photo.
My goal is to give every customer high-quality photos at a fraction of the cost of other photographers in Columbus, OH. I do this because I love it, but sadly I also have bills to pay. All of my photography packages are completely customizable to fit everyone's needs & wants while staying within their budget.
I am a laid back, yet a very organized person. I try to bring my personality into photo shoots. It helps the person in front of the camera be relaxed and allows them to be comfortable being themselves. This leads to some amazing photos that have that candid feel.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I want to make sure I am a good fit for your photography needs. Let me know what you're looking for and the style you want and I will let you know if it's something I can do. From there we will figure out a budget and package that makes sense for your individual needs. Of course, we will have to get a date/time for your shoot. Once everything is set I will send you any necessary paperwork via email.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
No formal training beyond a year of photography classes in high school. Beyond that, I am completely self-taught. I have shot some of the largest music festivals in the country, including Bonnaroo and Okeechobee Fest.

No, packages are fully customizable. Typical starting prices for a one hour shoot with digital delivery are:
Portrait/Family/Pet Photography - $125
Engagement Photography - $200
Wedding Photography - $200
