Real photos with simple edits, if needed. I believe in getting my pictures perfect when I take them, requiring less editing time and that is what allows me to charges less than others.

My favorite is capturing the moments that my clients don't even know I am. Those end up being their favorite shots generally.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Contacting the client and finding out what their needs are, dates needed, hours they need me, job they would like done.
It really is about my clients and what they are looking for in the photos I provide for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Some education, mostly self taught for years of doing it.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I am generally about the same on pricing unless I have to travel further or time I am needed is longer (ie;weddings).
I am typically about half of what most charge and I don't make you purchase addtional photos. You get everything of quality that I take (which is always a lot) and it is edited and loaded in high resolution on my client website galleries. You are able to download and print there or anywhere of your choosing.
Example: Engagement/Couples = $125-$150 depending on location. Average amount of photos is 50-100. I always include a black and white section too.
Newborn:
$200 Studio Session (I have to pay for that time in studio)
$175 In-Home Sessions
How did you get started in this business?
I have loved it all of my life and did as a hobby for years. I then went into sports photography and learned how much I enjoyed portrait. I launched my business thinking it would go slow but it has taken off very quickly. I still work a regular job but hope to not be shortly with the amount of time I spending in business.
I am registered and trademarked with Oregon. Currently rent studio space, do outside sessions and will do in-home Newborn sessions also. I am in the process of having my own studio built in Salem Oregon this spring.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types of customers from Newborn to very large families and a few weddings. I love working with any type of client and I try to work with all budgets in mind. I absolutely love working with kids.

Hiking and camping with my family at the beach!
All of my Christmas Mini Session events and Valentines Mini Session events have been so much fun.
Newborn Sessions and Senior Photos are my favorite.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Communicate your needs. I am very easy to work with and fun. I don't rush you as my reviews say over and over and I truly enjoy what I do and meeting people.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How many photos are you going to get for the session price?
Will there be additional costs if you want more photos?
Will you choose my set amount of photos?
This is why I don't choose and give you everything. My philosophy is simple - I took the photos and they are your memories to keep...why would I not give them to you and just delete them? :)
