Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I chat with them first to see wha their needs/wants are. I propose solutions that help them get as much of their needs as possible. I am always on time with my delivery and the job is not complete until the client is happy with the result!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied cinematography and photography at the Univesity of Utah and have been in the business for 10 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $50 per hour for video editing and standard charge of $500 per half day for videography or $900 for a full day. I can do everything from just videography, to full pre and post production.
How did you get started in this business?
I started making ads for my family business and found out I had a talent for it, so companies started hiring me out to make commercials for them.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with everything from mom and pop businesses, to Governemnt organizations such as the VA to multi national Non profits around the world.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently shot a documentary for a non profit organization in Vietnam. I was very impressed wiht the dedication of this company, and the sheer amount of good they were doing around the world. Their passion was infectuous.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Always look at their work. It's nice to have the latest equipment, but the key is do they deliver a good result at a good price?
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What do I need vs what do I want. Very often, these are very different questions. I have to keep teaching customers that the purpose of marketing is not to tout how amazing you are or how many awards you have won. The goal of a good video is to show how you can solve someone's problem.
