Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to begin by asking my client about their health, hair history, personal feelings about their hair, and any other thoughts that affect the wellness of the client's hair, skin, and scalp.
Understanding the health history of a client can also identify the root causes of the hair and or skin challenges that are present.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In 2004, I studied African Holistic Health and integrated my natural hair practice into the skills I gained in my holistic health course.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I have a standard pricing system that is found on my website.
How did you get started in this business?
I started working as a natural hairstylist after I learned that I possessed the skill to braid and style textured hair. My family is steeped in hair professionals. I am a 4th generation hairstylist and salon owner.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with career women, entertainers, models, political leaders, and business professionals. My clients are professionals who understand the intrinsic value of representing your own beauty and cultural heritage in the workplace and in daily life.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently launched my social enterprise, NeithRa Jewelry at the Baltimore RAW Artists Showcase in Baltimore. It was a huge deal, exposing me to over 1200 people in an event featuring more than 50 artists.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Be sure to read reviews and find out if the stylist is as concerned about the health of your hair as he/she/they should be. Healthy hair is more valuable than a temporary hair trend.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Be sure to find pics to demonstrate to your stylist the look you want. Even if you want to combine looks a picture literally translates to a clear vision to avoid wasted money and possible hair challenges.
