Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A good thorough consultation..Old pictures of them selves new pictures and pic of what they're looking for. Some people don't like pictures but everybody's perception of color is very different!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to beauty school after high school, my aunt owned the salon at the time..so she made me sit there every weekend and watch the other stylist, Of course I wanted to be with my friends but now I see it paid off in the long run. We did a lot of in-house classes went to a lot of training courses and product knowledge, trade shows, and watch YouTube channels. I think it's very important to keep up with your training a new trends.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Mostly all of our staff has 15 or more years experience. We do have a couple young girls out of school that are in training and whatever I feel comfortable with them doing they can..But you do get a junior stylist discount. We do explain to the customer that's a junior stylist are still in training and the experienced stylist is right next to them and have to consult every move they make.
How did you get started in this business?
When I was young and hanging out in the Salon, I would watch people come in and out, and the look on their faces and their attitudes just changed when they walked out the door. That's when I knew I wanted to help people feel good about themselves And become a Cosmetologist
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with a lot of different and unique people..I have some authors, famous musicians and race car drivers. I love hearing stories about their lives and how they became who they are today. You never know who's going to walk through that door
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We held an event for the wounded warriors it was a big hit, We did free haircuts for all veterans and their families..We had free food and tents set up with different stuff that people donated and music. People came from all over to support us. The local news came over, Pocono Raceway came over and gave us 500 free tickets to the pocono 500. It was so rewarding!!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
To be honest I don't like referring anyone..I tell them to please do the research and you'll find the best person that suits you. I don't want to be held responsible for anything, I've learned my lesson, But of course I want to help other small businesses so it's a very tough question
